Engagement ring styles
Struggling to make sense of the different styles and designs? Don't worry, we're here to help! Here's a breakdown of the popular engagement ring styles.
Cluster engagement rings
A cluster engagement ring has a group of diamonds as its focal point. It will typically comprise many small diamonds, but it can also be a larger diamond surrounded by smaller ones.
Dress/Cocktail engagement rings
Is your partner a touch eccentric? A cocktail ring, also known as a dress ring, might be the one for them. They're often oversized with a large diamond or stone in the centre. They have a gorgeous vintage look.

Halo engagement rings
The halo engagement ring is an extremely popular choice thanks to its timeless design. One central diamond is surrounded by a circle (or halo) of lots of little diamonds.
Solitaire engagement rings
Enjoy simple elegance with one central diamond or stone on a band without any other embellishments.
Trilogy engagement rings
Make a statement with three diamonds or stones on the band. They can be equal in size, or the central stone may be larger or a different type altogether.
Understanding diamond carats
When looking through our sparkling diamond engagement rings, you will notice the carat in the listing. The carat indicates the weight of the diamond. Contrary to popular belief, the carat is not always an indicator of the diamond's size. Two diamonds of the same carat can be different sizes.
One carat is equal to 200 milligrams or 100 points. Points are often used when talking about diamonds of a smaller carat.
· 0.25ct = 25 points diamond = 50 mg
· 0.50ct = 50 points = 100 mg
· 0.75ct = 75 points = 150 mg
· 1.00ct = 100 points = 200 mg
It's important to remember that carat is only one of the '4 Cs' , which are the important factors to consider when purchasing a diamond. The others are cut, colour and clarity. For example, a diamond with a higher carat can be cheaper than one with a lower carat if it doesn't score as highly for colour and clarity.
