Worksop Est1897 holds fundraising event for Macmillan

16th June 2015, Worksop: The Est1897 store on Bridge Street in Worksop is holding a fundraising day on Saturday 27th June between 9am and 5pm. Staff members will take part in a sponsored bikeathon on a static bike in store. They will be cycling 100 miles throughout the day. The distance is equivalent to the journey between Worksop and Middlesbrough! Their aim is to raise £200 for Macmillan, the national cancer support charity. H&T Pawnbrokers and their retail stores Est1897 are supporting Macmillan throughout the UK, in a bid to raise enough money to fund a Macmillan nurse for a year.

In addition to the bikeathon, the store will have entertainment, music, refreshments, a cake sale and a raffle with the opportunity to win pamper sets, wine and chocolate.

Store Manager, Philippa Snowden, said, ‘We’re committed to our local communities and hope to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan. Our Assistant Manager Jade, and our Sales Advisers Katie and Kim will be cycling hard all day to raise money. We hope the people of Worksop will come along to support this charity and have a great day out.’
