Bracelets are a staple of all of our jewellery boxes and the perfect way to add a bit of glam and sophistication to an outfit. But just like necklaces and rings, bracelets come in a variety of sizes, which can be an obstacle when it comes to finding one to fit our wrists, especially when shopping online.

Fortunately, measuring your wrists to find the right bracelet size can be done easily by your local jewellers, and you can even measure them yourself too.

Want to find out how? Read on to discover the range of different bracelet sizes, and find out how you can figure out the right size of bracelet for you at your local H&T, or in your own home.

Bracelet size chart

In general, it’s best to get a bracelet which is around 2cm wider than the area just above the bone of your wrist. This is why for example, a person with a 16cm wrist is best opting for an 18cm bracelet. However, this also depends on the type of bracelet you’re getting. One notable exception from the measurements above is bangles, as these are designed to fit looser on the wrist.

How we find the right bracelet size in-store?

Finding the right size bracelet at your local H&T couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is pop in with a bracelet you already own that fits and we can measure it on our bracelet sizer, as displayed in the image above. This cone-shaped tool has the measurements on it, a little bit like a ruler.

All you have to do is place the bracelet on top of it, and the number it lands on is the measurement of the bracelet circumference. Don’t worry if you don’t own a bracelet that is the right fit, as you can try on one of our bracelets which fits you well and we can use that to find the right size instead.

How to measure your bracelet size at home?

Using our measuring tool on a well-fitting bracelet when you next pay us a visit is the easiest way to find the right bracelet size for you. However, if you can’t pop in, you can still measure your wrist at home and use our handy bracelet size chart to find your perfect size.

To do so, simply use a flexible measuring tape and wrap it around your wrist tightly to find your wrist circumference, then add two centimetres to find your ideal bracelet size. You should measure just below your wrist bone which is where the bracelet should normally be worn.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a flexible measuring tape, as you can easily replicate this technique with a strip of paper and a ruler. To do this, simply wrap the paper around your wrist as you would with the measuring tape, mark the point where the paper starts to overlap around your wrist, and cut off the excess. Then simply measure the strip of paper with a ruler to find out your wrist measurement and discover the right size of bracelet for you.

Finding the right size bracelet is easy at your local H&T, so you can find an accessory you love in the perfect fit. If you want to size up more of your jewellery, we also have a handy necklace length guide for you to use as well.
