Celebrity, Watches

The clocks are changing, which means you need to wind your watch forward an hour on the 31st March (also Mother’s Day, don’t forget!). All this time talk struck a chord in us, so we started looking at watches worn in famous movies about time travel.

Eccentric Doc Brown from Back to the Future wore a watch on each wrist, along with a pocket watch. A nugget of movie trivia for you, there was a continuity blip in Part II. When Doc comes back to fetch Marty, the brass alarm clock usually on the dashboard of his DeLorean is gone.

Doc Brown wore a Seiko A826 Training Timer on his right wrist and a calculator watch on his right. The Seiko can capture split seconds using a remote finger trigger, a gadget well suited to a time traveller. It has rotating bezel allowing different timing modes and sits on a retro velcro strap.

Marty McFly wore a Casio CA53W Twincept Databank. This has an 8-digit calculator feature, so you can be a wizard of math as well as time. Imagine being on a date when the bill arrives. Dial that tip calculation into your watch like something out of Star Trek. Calculator watches were introduced in the 1970s and set a trend throughout the 80’s.

Marvell’s Doctor Strange sported a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual. The watch is daring, being only 9.2mm thick. Its dark alligator-skin bracelet invites intrigue, perfect for a sorcerer bountiful in confidence.

Cooper from the movie Interstellar wore a Hamilton Khaki Pilot Day Date. Hamilton say:

“The Khaki Pilot gives the wearer the feel of an early American pilot with its classic aviator design.”

When you think about the scale of impact the chronograph had in the aviation industry, it’s easy to fall in love with this piece. Its clean design features a stainless steel bracelet, black dial and day function.

When the moment appears and you need to find your next watch, we always have unique pieces from cool brands. Be it past, present, or future our values remain unchanged; the customer is at the heart of everything we do.
